Residential Building Extension – Rue de la Servette, Geneva
This feasibility study proposed the vertical extension of an existing residential building through the addition of two new floors and a recessed penthouse level on Rue de la Servette in Geneva.
To ensure a harmonious integration within the existing urban fabric, the design drew inspiration from the neighbouring building, whose extension features two prominent bay windows. Similar architectural elements were incorporated to create a balanced rhythm of solid and glazed surfaces across the façades.
The project would have created twelve new apartments while enhancing the existing building and contributing to urban densification without additional land consumption.
Although the project was ultimately not built, it reflects an architectural approach focused on contextual integration, housing densification and the sustainable transformation of the existing built environment.
