Reconstruction and extension of a village house – Cartigny
Located in the hamlet of La Petite Grave in Cartigny, this project involves the reconstruction and extension of a traditional village house situated on a site partly located within the protected Zone 4B and partly within the agricultural zone, the latter opening onto a large landscaped park.
The existing building was entirely dismantled and reconstructed while respecting its original building envelope, with an extension carefully integrated towards the agricultural area. A significant portion of the new structure is being built using a timber frame, combining high construction standards with a sensitive integration into its surroundings.
Particular attention has been paid to preserving the site’s architectural heritage. Several original materials have been carefully reused, including the characteristic stone cobbles and the wrought-iron balustrades, which have been restored and incorporated into the new design.
The project is currently under construction.
